Is there one
air purifier than can do it all? If you listen to
the hype, sure, why not. Many small, plastic
table top air purifiers with multiple air cleaning
technologies are said to be able to address every
type of indoor air quality issue. Most can only really
treat the air in a 100 sq ft area (yet are rated
for 500 or more sq ft) and are made out of plastic which adds to the VOC problem.
The only way to address all indoor
air quality issues is with multiple technologies. Here
are our suggestions to ensure you are addressing every
imaginable indoor air quality issue:
1) Live in a place with tile or hardwood
floors if you can. Carpets outgass (VOC's) and collect
dust. Limit the number of VOC materials indoor. Consult the EPA for more information.
2) Run your HVAC system(s) 24/7 and
utilize washable electrostatic furnace filters or MERV
11 furnace filters. Your HVAC system will filter
all of the air in your home about 2 times per hour. If you have an odor or VOC issue, use an
ozone generator when you're not home to sterilize the air and remove VOC's.
3) Install a UV-C
induct air sanitizer in you HVAC system to keep
your HVAC system and all of the air in your home virus, mold, and bacteria free.
4) Vacuum and clean your tile and floors often.
5) For bedrooms, you can look at the Airfree
P-1000 and the Austin
Air Allergy Machine Jr. The Airpura line of air purifiers is also a good choice if you want HEPA.
Before you purchase anything to improve
you indoor air quality, for heavens sake make sure
you remove as many pollution sources as you can from
your home and ventilate when you can. There are many
forces at work against us polluting the air these days
and causing childhood asthma and respiratory illness
to soar, Chemtrails for
instance, but adding to the problem ourselves doesn't
make much sense. And of course remember that diet and
activity (lifestyle) have a major impact on allergies
as well as overall health. Feel free to contact us
for advise on these subjects, take care, especially
of the young innocent souls in your care, and God Bless!
