Second
hand smoke has hundreds of known carcinogens. The smokers
lungs will reject the most harmful substances, much worse
than smoke coming from a cigarette or cigar. Second
hand smoke will penetrate fabrics and even hard surfaces.
Trying to remove the odor with bleach or a chemical such
as Fabreeze is an exercise in futility. It won't work.
The best and most effective way to remove second hand
smoke from the air or surfaces is via the oxidative reactions
that occur with ozone. If you smoke in your home we recommend an Airpura model with 26 lbs of carbon (C-600 for instance). While you smoke, we recommend you run one of our ozone generators to break down the smoke in the air and prevent it from damaging the walls, furniture, etc. Of course if you're not smoking, you don't want to be in the same room with an ozone generator. Ozone is used to clean smoked in rooms and rid them of the smoke damage. However, if you're smoking, that's another thing. Use ozone to prevent damage.
